Meeting Future Couples

Meeting future couples

Despite the rain, cold and snow I look forward to this time of year as it’s the time when I meet up with couples who are planning future weddings and celebrations. It’s usually the first opportunity that we have to meet face to face after weeks or months of emails and phone calls.

I feel that this is such an important time for them and me. It’s all very well communicating electronically but there is just no substitute for meeting up in person, discussing plans and preferences and starting to get a final plan decided upon. It is also exciting as we can really begin to look forward to the great event and get to know one another as friends.

As a qualified celebrant and a member of the UK Fellowship of Professional Celebrants, I am also thrilled that I will be conducting several symbolic ceremonies. The beauty of a symbolic ceremony is that it can be anything that you want. Any time, any location and using entirely your own words to express your love for one another. How wonderful is that?

Emotionally drained is an understatement, as the wedding DVD goes viral amongst family and friends, I can’t stop watching it and I’m only the wedding planner! This could give a new dimension to screen viewing on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, never mind Hogmanay … it’s a  huge love story and we can’t get enough of it.

I just love my work!

Valentines Day

With this symbol of eternity, I give you my love for evermore. For all the days of my life, I promise to cherish you and adore you. With all of my heart, I promise to comfort you and support you. Together we will share times both good and bad, but hand in hand our dreams will come true.

As Valentines Day approaches, are you thinking of asking a special question?

A symbolic ceremony allows you to create your own personal vows to each other. How beautiful is that? Now imagine the ceremony setting in Corfu, in the olive groves, on the beach, by the pool…………..

You see, dreams can come true more easily than you think!

Sweet honeymooners

Corfu wedding planningAs a wedding planner, I am utterly joyful. My latest bride and groom have just returned from their honeymoon in the Maldives and have expressed their thanks and gratitude in making their Corfu wedding, such a dream day! You can have your dreams come true too.

Looking your best for the BIG day

I’m hoping that I look my best when I meet my new Corfu supplier, a make up artist who has worked on Elle and Vogue magazines to name just two.

I’ll probably be getting the concealer out, no need for my brides though, they just glow with serenity and joy. Bless them.

Celebration Countdown

Thinking of fun loving K & J as they continue the celebration countdown to their wedding at the end of this week. So much planning and careful organisation is going into the most fabulous 2013 wedding party ever on Corfu!

It hasn’t gone entirely without a hitch though. As a Corfu wedding planner, my haute couture training and background was a particular blessing to this really special bride who has had an utterly awful experience and bad deal in the UK. With only a few days to go, I was close to tears myself regarding her dress. However, with a little time, application, patience and detailed work it was transformed into the wedding dress of her dreams. There’s a certain Surrey bridal shop who wins no points with me and I am seriously considering whether to name and shame. Watch this space.

More than seventy guests are coming from all parts of the world to join them in their special celebration and it will be wonderful to welcome all their beloved friends and family prior to the BIG day!

All of them have come to Corfu to celebrate that K & J have declared their love for each other.

The anticipation and excited nerves are kicking in for K & J as they prepare for their Corfu wedding celebration rehearsal.

The photographer flew in this morning so it’s all about checking locations and light quality, just got to get the ushers in order, I have full permission to boss them about and delegate work, something I will relish!

Guests are flying in as we speak and they and the family are relaxed and enjoying the build up to the big day. Brilliant, can’t wait. What a party it’s gonna be! Watch out for the photos and video soon.
